Meningococcal group Y polysaccharide-tetanus toxoid conjugate vaccine (MenY-TT) is a monovalent vaccine candidate developed by Sanofi Pasteur for the prevention of invasive meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroup Y. The vaccine consists of the capsular polysaccharide of serogroup Y covalently linked to a tetanus toxoid carrier protein. This conjugation technology is designed to enhance the immune response by converting the polysaccharide from a T-cell independent to a T-cell dependent antigen. This conversion is particularly important for inducing high-avidity antibodies and immunological memory in infants and young children, who typically respond poorly to plain polysaccharide vaccines. While serogroup Y is a significant cause of meningococcal disease in North America and other regions, Sanofi Pasteur has primarily focused on incorporating this component into its quadrivalent (ACWY) conjugate vaccines, such as MenQuadfi.
