Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Meningococcal groups A, B, C, W and Y vaccine** is a pentavalent conjugate vaccine that provides active immunization against invasive meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, B, C, W, and Y. It combines quadrivalent MenACWY components (polysaccharides from serogroups A, C, W, Y conjugated to tetanus toxoid or CRM197) with recombinant proteins targeting serogroup B (fHBP variants), administered as a single 0.5 mL intramuscular dose to individuals aged 10 years and older, including those at increased risk such as during outbreaks, with asplenia, complement deficiencies, HIV, or complement inhibitor use. Developed by Pfizer, it offers a convenient single-shot alternative to separate MenACWY and MenB vaccines, with routine recommendations for adolescents and boosters for ongoing risk.[4][16][22]
