Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A **quadrivalent conjugate vaccine** designed to prevent invasive disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, C, Y, and W. Each capsular polysaccharide antigen is chemically conjugated to **tetanus toxoid** protein, enhancing immunogenicity via T-cell dependent pathways. This results in robust, long-lasting antibody and cellular responses (IgG, IgM, IgA) against all four targeted meningococcal groups. MenACWY-TT is administered by intramuscular injection as a single-dose immunization; a booster may be recommended for individuals at continuing risk. It is developed for use in children, adults, and travelers, and is suitable for coadministration with other vaccines. Clinical trials have demonstrated noninferior and sometimes superior immunogenicity compared to older quadrivalent meningococcal vaccines[1][2][3].
