Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The meningococcal groups A and C and Haemophilus b conjugate vaccine is a combination vaccine developed by Beijing Zhifei Lvzhu Biopharmaceutical. It is designed to provide active immunization against invasive diseases caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A and C, as well as Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). The vaccine consists of purified capsular polysaccharides from these three pathogens, each conjugated to a carrier protein (typically tetanus toxoid) to enhance immunogenicity, particularly in infants. A specific formulation, marketed as Xifibei, was the first triple conjugate vaccine approved in China. Recent clinical development has focused on evaluating adjuvant-free versions to compare safety and immunogenicity profiles against traditional adjuvanted formulations in the pediatric population.
