Meningococcal polysaccharide diphtheria conjugate vaccine

Meningococcal polysaccharide diphtheria conjugate vaccine is an active immunizing agent used to prevent invasive disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, C, Y, and W-135. The vaccine contains purified capsular polysaccharides from these four serogroups of *Neisseria meningitidis* that are covalently linked (conjugated) to a carrier protein—diphtheria toxoid. This conjugation enhances the immune response by promoting T-cell dependent immunity and immunological memory. The primary indication is the prevention of invasive meningococcal disease in individuals at increased risk or as part of routine immunization schedules for children and adolescents. It does not protect against group B *Neisseria meningitidis*[1][4][6][8].
