The meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine AC bivalent (MPSV-AC) is a vaccine designed to prevent epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A and C. It is composed of purified capsular polysaccharide antigens derived from these two serogroups. Unlike conjugate vaccines, this polysaccharide-based formulation elicits a T-cell-independent immune response, which is generally less effective at inducing long-term immunological memory and is poorly immunogenic in children under two years of age. In China, the vaccine is a key component of the National Immunization Program (NIP), where it is typically administered as a two-dose series to children at 3 and 6 years of age. It has also been evaluated as a booster option for children who were previously primed with meningococcal conjugate vaccines in infancy.
