Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A quadrivalent vaccine containing **Neisseria meningitidis** capsular polysaccharides from serogroups A, C, W, and Y, each conjugated to tetanus toxoid (TT) as the carrier protein. It is designed to induce protective antibodies against these serogroups and prevent invasive meningococcal disease, including meningococcal meningitis and meningococcemia. It does not protect against serogroup B. The vaccine is administered as a ready-to-use solution without preservatives or adjuvants. Developed to provide broad coverage for meningococcal disease, it is indicated for individuals 2 years and older. The mechanism of action involves the humoral immune response, with polysaccharide antigens presented in a protein-conjugated form to stimulate robust, long-lasting immunity through T-cell dependent pathways[1][2][3][4][5].
