meningococcal vaccine (VBC)

The meningitis vaccine developed by VBC (Vietnam Biopharmaceutical Corporation) is a biological preparation designed to provide active immunization against *Neisseria meningitidis*, the primary causative agent of meningococcal meningitis. VBC's portfolio includes the Meningo AC vaccine, a bivalent polysaccharide vaccine targeting serogroups A and C, and the Meningo BC vaccine, which targets serogroups B and C. The Meningo BC formulation is particularly significant as it utilizes outer membrane proteins to elicit an immune response against serogroup B, which is not effectively addressed by traditional polysaccharide-only vaccines.
