Menotropins, also known as human menopausal gonadotropin (hMG), is a hormonal preparation containing follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) in a 1:1 ratio, purified from the urine of postmenopausal women. It functions as an agonist at both FSH and LH receptors, which are critical for stimulating ovarian follicular growth, maturation, and steroidogenesis in women, as well as spermatogenesis in men. Menotropins is a cornerstone of assisted reproductive technology (ART) for treating infertility.
