MenQuadfi

MenQuadfi is a quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine developed by Sanofi Pasteur for the prevention of invasive meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, C, W, and Y. It is the first quadrivalent meningococcal vaccine to use tetanus toxoid as the carrier protein. The vaccine consists of capsular polysaccharides from the four serogroups, each individually conjugated to the tetanus toxoid. It is formulated as a ready-to-use liquid for intramuscular injection. It was FDA-approved in 2020 for individuals 2 years of age and older, and in 2022, the approval was expanded to include infants as young as 6 weeks of age. The vaccine is designed to provide broad protection against the most common serogroups associated with invasive disease by inducing active immunity through the presentation of bacterial polysaccharides to the immune system.
