MER683 is a biologic therapeutic candidate being developed by Merida Biosciences for the treatment of primary membranous nephropathy (pMN). It is designed to clear pathogenic autoantibodies that target the phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R), which are the primary drivers of glomerular damage in this autoimmune kidney disease. By specifically removing these autoantibodies from the circulation, MER683 aims to halt the progression of podocyte injury and promote renal recovery. The program is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development.
