Overview

Merigolix (HS-10518) is an investigational, orally bioavailable, non-peptide gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor antagonist. Developed by Jiangsu Hansoh Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. under an exclusive license from TiumBio for Greater China, it is designed to treat estrogen-dependent conditions such as endometriosis and uterine leiomyomas (uterine fibroids). By competitively binding to GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, merigolix suppresses the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), leading to a dose-dependent reduction in ovarian estradiol production. This mechanism aims to alleviate symptoms like pelvic pain and heavy menstrual bleeding while offering the convenience of oral administration compared to injectable GnRH agonists.
