Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mesenchymal stem cell lyophilized powder is an investigational biologic therapy derived from the secretome of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). The product is prepared by freeze-drying the supernatant or specific components of MSCs to create a stable powder that can be reconstituted for topical ophthalmic administration. It contains a complex mixture of bioactive factors, including cytokines, growth factors, and extracellular vesicles (exosomes), which mediate immunomodulatory and regenerative processes. In the context of ocular chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD), the therapy is intended to reduce inflammation on the ocular surface, promote the repair of the corneal epithelium, and improve tear film stability, addressing the underlying pathology of severe dry eye and ocular surface damage associated with allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
