Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from Cell Energy Life Sciences Group are an investigational cell therapy being developed for the treatment of lung injury caused by major infectious diseases, including viral pneumonia and potentially COVID-19. These multipotent cells are administered via intravenous infusion and are designed to home to damaged lung tissue. Once localized, they exert therapeutic effects by secreting a variety of paracrine factors, such as cytokines and growth factors, which modulate the host's immune response. This action helps to suppress the systemic inflammatory response (cytokine storm), reduce alveolar-capillary membrane permeability, and promote the regeneration of lung tissue, thereby improving respiratory function in patients with acute lung injury or ARDS.
