Mesenchymal stem cells (Ankara University) is an investigational cell therapy consisting of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) cultured under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) conditions. Developed by Ankara University, this therapy is being evaluated for its immunomodulatory properties to prevent graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and support hematopoietic engraftment in patients with high-risk hematologic malignancies, such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), undergoing haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). The cells are typically administered intravenously on day +6 post-transplantation to leverage their ability to suppress inflammatory responses and modulate the immune environment, thereby mitigating the risks associated with HLA-mismatched donors.
