Overview

**Mesothelin chimeric antigen receptor-modified autologous T cells** is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy targeting mesothelin (MSLN), a cell-surface glycoprotein overexpressed in various solid tumors. Developed by the Chinese People's Liberation Army Bayi Hospital, this cell therapy is designed to treat advanced solid tumors, specifically ovarian cancer. The treatment involves isolating a patient's T cells, genetically engineering them ex vivo to express a CAR specific for mesothelin, expanding the cells, and reinfusing them into the patient. Once infused, the CAR-T cells bind to mesothelin on tumor cells, triggering T-cell activation, proliferation, and targeted tumor cell destruction. It is being evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial in China for patients with advanced ovarian cancer.
