**Mesothelin HLA-independent TCR** is an investigational autologous engineered T-cell therapy from Adaptimmune, co-developed with Astellas, in which patient T cells are modified to express an HLA-independent T-cell receptor that directly recognizes the extracellular tumor-associated antigen mesothelin on the cell surface rather than peptide-HLA complexes. The program is part of Adaptimmune's HiT platform, which uses engineered TCRs capable of targeting surface proteins while signaling through the native TCR complex, with preclinical work showing HLA-independent and CD8-independent tumor-cell killing, activity in CD4 and CD8 T cells, and complete tumor regression in mesothelin-positive xenograft models. It is being explored for mesothelin-expressing solid tumors such as pancreatic cancer, mesothelioma, ovarian cancer, and lung cancer, but as of the identified public information the program appears to remain at the preclinical or in-development stage without a disclosed commercial brand name.
