mesothelin-targeted OC-IgT is an autologous, genetically engineered T-cell therapy (immunogene-modified T cells, or IgT) designed to target mesothelin-expressing ovarian cancer cells. Developed by the Shenzhen Geno-Immune Medical Institute in collaboration with Xuefeng Wang, this cell therapy involves isolating a patient's T lymphocytes, genetically modifying them to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting mesothelin, and infusing them back into the patient. Mesothelin is a cell-surface glycoprotein highly overexpressed in epithelial ovarian cancers but minimally expressed in normal tissues, making it a promising target for adoptive immunotherapy. The therapy is being evaluated in clinical trials in China for patients with recurrent or refractory ovarian cancer to assess its safety, tolerability, and antitumor efficacy.
