Drug intelligence / Profile preview
META060 is a proprietary and patented formulation of tetrahydro iso-alpha acids derived from *Humulus lupulus* L. (hops). It is being developed primarily for weight management and metabolic disorders such as obesity and insulin resistance. Preclinical studies in high-fat diet-fed mice have shown that supplementation with META060 reduces body weight gain, improves glucose tolerance, increases metabolic flexibility, and normalizes insulin sensitivity markers. The compound also demonstrates anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting monocyte-endothelial cell interactions, suppressing multiple biomarkers of inflammation (including IL-1β, MCP-1, RANTES), reducing MMP-9 expression/activity, and inhibiting the activation of transcription factors NF-κB and AP-1. Additionally, META060 inhibits several kinases associated with inflammatory diseases (Syk, Btk, PI 3-kinase, GSK3) and osteoclastogenesis *in vitro*. These properties suggest potential therapeutic value for managing obesity-related metabolic dysfunctions as well as inflammatory conditions such as atherosclerosis or rheumatoid arthritis[1][2][4][5][6].
