Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Metafenib is a third-generation, small molecule multi-kinase inhibitor being developed by Hunan Nanxin Pharmaceutical (also known as Guangzhou Nanxin Pharmaceutical). It is designed as a multi-target agent to inhibit various signaling pathways involved in tumor proliferation and angiogenesis. Metafenib is currently in Phase Ib/IIa clinical development for the treatment of several solid tumors, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), renal cell carcinoma (RCC), metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), and gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). As a member of the "fenib" class of kinase inhibitors, it aims to provide improved efficacy or safety profiles compared to earlier generations of multi-kinase inhibitors.
