Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Metagenics resistant starch blend is a proprietary dietary supplement designed to support gastrointestinal health. It contains a mixture of at least 50% resistant starch derived from potato starch, green banana flour, and apple fiber powder (a source of apple pectin). As a prebiotic, the blend resists enzymatic digestion in the upper gastrointestinal tract and travels to the colon, where it serves as a substrate for fermentation by resident gut bacteria. This process stimulates the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and promotes beneficial shifts in the gut microbiota, aimed at alleviating occasional gastrointestinal distress and improving overall quality of life.
