Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Metapneumovirus Aviar Subtipo B is a live attenuated, lyophilized viral vaccine developed by FARVET for the immunization of poultry against Avian Metapneumovirus (aMPV) subtype B. This vaccine is specifically indicated for the prevention of Swollen Head Syndrome (SHS) and associated respiratory infections in broilers, breeders, and commercial layers. By introducing a weakened form of the subtype B virus, the vaccine stimulates a robust immune response, including mucosal IgA and systemic antibodies, providing protection against field challenges. It is typically administered via coarse spray or ocular/nasal instillation to ensure effective colonization of the upper respiratory tract and induction of local immunity.
