Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Metarhizium brunneum isolate Mb7 is an entomopathogenic fungus utilized as a biopesticide and plant growth promoter. It demonstrates virulence against a range of arthropod pests, including the red palm weevil, two-spotted spider mite, bulb mite, and the Mediterranean flat-headed root-borer, causing mortality through infection. Beyond its direct pesticidal action, Mb7 can induce systemic immunity and disease resistance in plants, such as tomato, and promote plant growth. It can be applied in various formulations, including conidial suspensions, powders, or as granules for soil application, and has shown the ability to colonize plant tissues endophytically to provide protection against infestations.
