Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Metbest XL 25 is a branded generic formulation of metoprolol succinate, an extended-release selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker. Developed and distributed by Astra Care Pharmaceuticals, it is primarily used to treat cardiovascular conditions including hypertension, angina pectoris, and cardiac arrhythmias, as well as for the secondary prevention of myocardial infarction and the prophylaxis of migraine. By selectively antagonizing beta-1 receptors in the heart, it reduces heart rate, cardiac output, and blood pressure, thereby decreasing the heart's workload and oxygen demand.
