Overview

This is a fixed-dose combination of three agents—metformin, myo-inositol, and d-chiro-inositol—used primarily for the management of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). All three components act as insulin sensitizers but through different mechanisms. Metformin is a biguanide that decreases hepatic glucose production and increases peripheral insulin sensitivity. Myo-inositol and d-chiro-inositol are stereoisomers involved in cellular signaling pathways related to insulin action; they help improve ovarian function, regulate menstrual cycles, promote ovulation, and reduce hyperandrogenism. The combination has been shown to improve clinical symptoms (such as menstrual irregularity), metabolic parameters (insulin resistance), hormonal profiles (testosterone levels), and quality of life in women with PCOS. Some studies suggest the combination may allow for lower individual drug dosages without loss of efficacy[1][4][5].
