Overview

A combination therapy consisting of metformin, a biguanide antihyperglycemic agent, and pentoxifylline, a methylxanthine derivative. Metformin works by decreasing hepatic glucose production, reducing intestinal glucose absorption, and increasing insulin sensitivity. Pentoxifylline improves blood circulation by reducing blood viscosity and improving red blood cell flexibility. The combination has shown efficacy in treating nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and endometriosis-related conditions, particularly endometrioma in infertile women.
