Overview

Myorel is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product containing methocarbamol (380 mg) and paracetamol (300 mg), also known as acetaminophen. Methocarbamol is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant; while its precise molecular mechanism is not fully understood, it is believed to induce muscle relaxation through general depression of the central nervous system (CNS) rather than by direct action on the contractile mechanism of skeletal muscle or the motor end plate. Paracetamol is a widely used non-opioid analgesic and antipyretic that primarily exerts its effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis within the CNS. This combination is indicated for the symptomatic relief of painful muscle spasms associated with acute musculoskeletal conditions. In clinical research led by Saglik Bilimleri Universitesi, Myorel was evaluated for its effectiveness in managing myalgia induced by bruxism, serving as a comparative pharmacological control against botulinum toxin, dry needling, and manual therapy.
