Overview
LAFAREX is an insect growth regulator (IGR) developed by IOCB TECH, containing the active ingredient methoprene. It functions as a juvenoid, or juvenile hormone analog, which mimics the natural hormones responsible for regulating insect development and metamorphosis. By binding as an agonist to the insect juvenile hormone receptor, LAFAREX disrupts the normal life cycle of Pharaoh's ants (*Monomorium pharaonis*), preventing larvae from reaching adulthood and inducing sterility in the queen. This targeted approach leads to the eventual eradication of the entire ant colony. LAFAREX is an approved product for the management of indoor ant infestations.
