Overview

Methoxyphenamine hydrochloride is a small molecule pharmaceutical drug classified as a β-adrenergic receptor agonist. It acts primarily on β-adrenoceptors to relax bronchial smooth muscle and relieve bronchospasm, making it effective in the treatment of bronchial asthma. Its bronchodilatory effect is stronger than that of ephedrine, while its central nervous system stimulation and cardiovascular effects are weaker. After oral administration, it is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, metabolized in the liver, and excreted via urine. The duration of action typically lasts 3–4 hours. Methoxyphenamine hydrochloride is indicated for bronchial asthma[1][6].
