Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bangay Ultra is a topical analgesic combination product developed and manufactured by Sharif Pharmaceuticals, a generic pharmaceutical company based in Bangladesh. The formulation contains methyl salicylate, menthol, and camphor, which work synergistically to provide temporary relief from minor aches and pains associated with arthritis, simple backache, muscle strains, and sprains. Methyl salicylate acts as a counter-irritant by inducing skin redness and warmth to distract from deeper musculoskeletal pain. Menthol provides a cooling sensation by stimulating cold-sensitive TRPM8 receptors and possesses mild local anesthetic properties. Camphor serves as a rubefacient and mild analgesic, enhancing local blood flow to the site of application by modulating various thermoreceptors including TRPV1.
