Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Neuroguard LM is a fixed-dose combination of methylcobalamin, l-methylfolate, and pyridoxal-5-phosphate, developed by Welcure Pharma. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and hyperhomocysteinemia. Methylcobalamin, the active form of vitamin B12, facilitates nerve regeneration by promoting the synthesis of lecithin and the formation of the myelin sheath. L-methylfolate, the biologically active form of folic acid, bypasses the metabolic steps required by synthetic folic acid and is essential for DNA synthesis and the regulation of homocysteine levels, which are often elevated in neuropathic conditions. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate, the active form of vitamin B6, serves as a vital coenzyme in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and GABA. Together, these components provide neuroprotective effects and support the structural and functional integrity of the nervous system.
