Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination therapy consists of oral methylene blue and platelet-rich plasma-fibrin glue (PRP-FG) dressing. It is being investigated for the treatment of non-healing diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). The treatment works by improving hypoxic conditions in wound areas caused by diabetes using methylene blue, while the PRP-FG component provides growth factors that stimulate cell growth, differentiation, and wound healing. The PRP-FG is applied as a dressing to the wound, while methylene blue is administered orally dissolved in milk.
