Overview

Methylreboxetine is a radiolabeled derivative of reboxetine used primarily as a positron emission tomography (PET) ligand for imaging the norepinephrine transporter (NET) in the brain. The compound most commonly referenced as methylreboxetine is [(S,S)-[11C]-O-methylreboxetine], also known as [11C]MeNER or [11C]MRB. It acts as a highly selective ligand for NET and is not used therapeutically but rather in research settings to study NET distribution and occupancy in vivo. Its mechanism of action involves binding to the norepinephrine transporter with high affinity.
