Metmose-GV23

Metmose-GV23 is a fixed-dose combination oral anti-diabetic medication marketed by Biomax Biotechnics for the management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus. It combines three active ingredients with distinct and complementary mechanisms of action to achieve optimal glycemic control. Metformin hydrochloride, a biguanide, primarily reduces hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity. Glimepiride, a second-generation sulfonylurea, stimulates insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells by binding to the sulfonylurea receptor 1 (SUR1) component of ATP-sensitive potassium channels. Voglibose, an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor, delays the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the small intestine, thereby reducing postprandial blood glucose spikes. This triple therapy is typically indicated for patients whose blood glucose levels are not adequately controlled by dual therapy with metformin and a sulfonylurea.
