Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of two medications used primarily for antiemetic purposes. Metoclopramide is a dopamine D2 receptor antagonist and serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist with prokinetic effects that enhance gastric emptying. Diphenhydramine is a first-generation histamine H1 receptor antagonist with antimuscarinic properties. Together, they provide enhanced antiemetic effects while diphenhydramine helps counteract some of metoclopramide's extrapyramidal side effects.
