Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Metribolone is a synthetic, non-aromatizable androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) that binds strongly to the androgen receptor. It is structurally related to trenbolone and is notable for its high potency as an agonist of the androgen receptor. Metribolone has been used primarily in scientific research as an affinity label for the androgen receptor in prostate tissue and tumors. It was studied for potential use in treating advanced breast cancer but was discontinued due to severe hepatotoxicity. The compound is not approved for medical use in any country and remains a tool compound in endocrinology and steroid research[1][2][5].
