Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a triple antibiotic combination therapy used primarily for treating hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), particularly severe Hurley stage 1. The combination provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial coverage targeting both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Metronidazole is a nitroimidazole antibiotic effective against anaerobic bacteria and certain parasites. Moxifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. Rifampin is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial RNA polymerase. The combination has shown efficacy in achieving complete remission in HS patients, particularly those with less severe disease (Hurley stage 1 and 2).
