Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MEVAC Mycoplasma Vaccine is a veterinary biological product developed by Middle East for Vaccines (MEVAC) for the immunization of poultry against Mycoplasma infections. These infections, primarily caused by *Mycoplasma gallisepticum* (MG) and *Mycoplasma synoviae* (MS), are responsible for chronic respiratory disease, airsacculitis, and infectious synovitis in chickens and turkeys. The vaccine is designed to stimulate the avian immune system to produce specific antibodies, thereby reducing clinical signs, lesions, and the drop in egg production associated with these pathogens. It is typically formulated as an inactivated oil-emulsion vaccine to provide long-lasting immunity and is used in commercial broiler and layer operations to maintain flock health and productivity.
