Overview
MEVAC ND7 PLUS is an inactivated bivalent water-in-oil emulsified veterinary vaccine designed for the immunization of chickens against Newcastle disease virus (NDV) genotypes II (GII) and VII (GVII), including genotype VII.1.1 strains that are highly virulent and now prevalent in many endemic regions.[6][7] The vaccine contains inactivated NDV antigens formulated in an oil adjuvant to enhance and prolong the humoral and cellular immune response, thereby improving protection and reducing virus shedding compared with conventional GII-only vaccines when challenged with genotype VII.1.1 field strains.[6][7] It is administered as a 0.5 mL dose per bird by subcutaneous injection in the neck or intramuscularly in the thigh or breast muscles, and is used as part of ND control programs in commercial poultry operations.[6][7]
