Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MEVAC Sheep Pox Vaccine is a veterinary live-attenuated vaccine developed by Middle East for Vaccines (MEVAC) for the active immunization of sheep against sheep pox. The vaccine is designed to induce a robust and protective immune response, including both humoral and cell-mediated immunity, against the Sheep Pox virus (a member of the Capripoxvirus genus). By presenting an attenuated form of the virus, the vaccine prepares the ruminant's immune system to recognize and neutralize the pathogen upon subsequent exposure, thereby preventing the development of clinical disease, skin lesions, and systemic complications. It is a critical tool for livestock health management in endemic regions, particularly across the Middle East and Africa.
