MF11-30 is a **mouse anti-idiotypic monoclonal antibody** developed as a therapeutic vaccine for melanoma. It bears the "internal image" of the human high-molecular-weight melanoma-associated antigen (**HMW-MAA**, also known as **chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 4**, CSPG4), thereby **mimicking HMW-MAA** and eliciting an immune response against melanoma cells expressing this antigen. Clinical studies have shown that subcutaneous administration of MF11-30 induces both humoral and cellular immune responses and can lead to remissions in some patients with advanced melanoma. Mechanistically, MF11-30 functions as an anti-idiotype antibody vaccine, aiming to break tumor immune tolerance and stimulate cytotoxic T lymphocytes against HMW-MAA/CSPG4-positive tumor cells[2][4][8][10][12].
