Overview

MFA-370 is an investigational oral combination therapy composed of two already approved pharmaceuticals, developed by Ectin Research for the treatment of metastatic urothelial cancer. The rationale for this combination originated from a clinical observation where a patient with muscle-invasive bladder cancer and a concurrent parasitic infection experienced complete remission after receiving both treatments. Preclinical studies have shown that the two drugs in MFA-370 enhance each other's anti-cancer effects by reducing cancer cell proliferation and inducing cell death in various cancer models, including bladder, breast, colon, and prostate cancers. The exact mechanisms of action remain undisclosed or unknown publicly. Clinical development is ongoing with Phase I/II trials evaluating safety and efficacy in patients with metastatic urothelial carcinoma[1][2][3][4][5][7].
