Overview

MG-5-325 is a small molecule inhibitor of Mitogen-activated protein kinase 3 (MAPK3), also known as ERK1, currently under development by Metagone Biotech. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of acute pharyngeal inflammation (API). MAPK3 is a key component of the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) signaling pathway, which regulates various cellular processes including the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. By targeting MAPK3, MG-5-325 aims to modulate the inflammatory response in the pharyngeal mucosa, providing a therapeutic approach for acute upper respiratory inflammatory conditions. The drug is currently in Phase 2 clinical development.
