Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MG-5-3525 is a small molecule inhibitor of Mitogen-activated protein kinase 3 (MAPK3), also known as ERK1, currently in Phase 2 development by Metagone Biotech. It is being investigated for the treatment of chronic respiratory diseases, specifically bronchiectasis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). MAPK3 is a key mediator in the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) signaling pathway, which is involved in regulating inflammatory responses and cellular proliferation in the airways. By inhibiting MAPK3, MG-5-3525 aims to reduce the chronic inflammation and tissue remodeling associated with these pulmonary conditions.
