This is an autologous dendritic cell (DC) vaccine loaded with the MG-7 antigen, a tumor-associated antigen specifically expressed in gastric cancer cells. Developed by The Second Hospital of Shandong University, the vaccine is produced by transfecting a patient's own dendritic cells with a lentiviral vector encoding the MG-7 antigen. Once administered, these modified DCs present the MG-7 antigen to the immune system, activating cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) to specifically target and eliminate gastric cancer cells expressing MG-7. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials for the treatment of advanced gastric cancer, both as a monotherapy and in combination with CTLs or the PD-1 inhibitor sintilimab.
