MG-GHC24 is a preclinical-stage lipid nanoparticle (LNP) nanomedicine developed by MEPSGEN for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). It is designed to target cancer cell metabolism by interfering with the altered cholesterol homeostasis that supports GBM tumorigenesis. MG-GHC24 is engineered for high blood-brain barrier (BBB) penetration and accumulates in tumor cells via receptor-mediated endocytosis. The therapeutic effect is achieved by inducing cholesterol efflux, which depletes intracellular cholesterol levels and leads to glioblastoma cell death. The drug is part of MEPSGEN's MG-X_Nanomedicine pipeline, which utilizes the company's proprietary nanoparticle production and microphysiological system platforms.
