Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mg OSTEOCRETE is a magnesium oxide-based, fully resorbable bone substitute developed by Bone Solutions Inc. It is a fast-setting orthopedic implant solution designed to fill bone voids or defects and provide structural support during the healing process. The material initiates a crystallization reaction with phosphate compounds to create an osteoconductive environment that promotes osteoblast activity, including cell adhesion, proliferation, and extracellular matrix formation. Over time, the substitute is replaced by natural bone through creeping substitution. It is the first magnesium-based bone substitute cleared by the FDA for use in the intervertebral body disc space, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar fusion procedures.
