MG-Sh19 is a nanomedicine candidate developed by MEPSGEN for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It is part of the company's MG-X Nanomedicine pipeline, which utilizes a proprietary biomimetic nanoparticle platform designed to effectively cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) via receptor-mediated endocytosis. While MEPSGEN's lead Alzheimer's candidate, MG-PE3, is primarily focused on the clearance of amyloid-beta plaques, MG-Sh19 is specifically designed to target and ameliorate neuroinflammation mediated by microglia. The therapeutic is manufactured using MEPSGEN's microvortex-based synthesis technology (NanoCalibur), which ensures the production of stable, uniform nanoparticles with high encapsulation efficiency for therapeutic cargo, potentially including small molecules or nucleic acids.
