Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MG1109 is an egg-based, alum-adjuvanted, whole virion pre-pandemic influenza A/H5N1 vaccine developed as part of pandemic preparedness plans. In Phase III clinical trials, it demonstrated high immunogenicity with seroprotection rates of 74.8% after two doses. The vaccine met all three Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) criteria against the vaccine strain across all age groups. Solicited adverse events were mostly mild to moderate and not significantly different from placebo.
