Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MG149 is a selective, cell-permeable small molecule inhibitor of the MYST family of histone acetyltransferases (HATs), primarily targeting Tip60 (KAT5) and MOF (KAT8). It acts as an anacardic acid analog, competitively inhibiting Tip60 with respect to acetyl-CoA, and uncompetitively inhibiting KAT8. MG149 is widely utilized as a preclinical research tool to study histone acetylation, chromatin regulation, and the role of MYST family HATs in various pathological processes, including inflammatory lung diseases, acute myeloid leukemia, and bladder cancer.
